Favorite Friday

Posted by ONLINE on Friday, November 5, 2010

This week I am featuring my real-life bloggy friends...if you've been around here for a while...you know them. Jennifer Juniper, Marzipan, Joy from Joybeadworks and Girl in the Sticks....They are my soul sisters and truly some of my favorite friends. We can go a few weeks without getting together or chatting, but when we're together we just pick up where we left off....our lives, kids, relationships, things in the kitchen/oven and CRAFTS! Well, this weekend Ms. Juniper has so graciously invited us up to her ski place again...our second annual Smackdown! Click HERE to see all the fun we had last year.....There is snow in the forecast, but we don't mind! We plan on building a fire, snacking, drinking, crafting, watching movies and maybe a little shopping....The perfect weekend away for the Soul Sisters!! Be sure to check back next week to see all the fun! Have a great weekend...and maybe treat yourself to a litte crafty time too :)

Cute Clipboard

Posted by ONLINE on Monday, November 1, 2010

After little Cubby's team won the Super bowl I decided to get a hoodie/t-shirt designed and get an order put together to help celebrate. The team was having a Super bowl party the next day, so I had to work quick. I made some calls, sent out some emails and put together an order form so I could pass them out at the party. The treatgirl likes to be organized and appear coordinated....and I thought it would be a good idea to have extra pens, an envelope for the checks/money, and a clipboard to write on while eating pizza and cake and taking orders at the same time. But when I dug mine out, I noticed it looked a little messy...so with an hour to go before I had to leave and pick up the cake on the way to the party, I decided to make it cute :) I have seen these around town.....a teacher friend had one, and also an instructor at the gym...I never took a close look, and probably if I had more time I would have gone blog-hopping and found a real tutorial...but I didn't, so I just winged it......

It only took a 2 sheets of scrapbook paper, some ribbon and Mod Podge. I cut the paper to fit...brushed the Mod Podge on with a brush and positioned the paper.

I tied some coordinating ribbons on for extra cuteness.

And VOILA! A really cute little clipboard! Blue and black just happen to be our team colors....so it just went with the whole theme of the day. Now if you happen to know how to REALLY make one of these, or have any tips....leave me a comment...I think I'll be making a few more. Thanks!

Superbowl CHAMPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by ONLINE on Saturday, October 30, 2010

We are the champions!! Who would have thought all those months ago back in July when we started this season we would win the Superbowl! Our boys played their hearts out....it was a CLOSE game....tied 0-0 until the last 5 minutes of the game. Much too stressful on the mommies!!!

Cubby had a great season and I couldn't be prouder of him. How blessed I am to have two boys who have won the Superbowl...T's team, the Chiefs won it last year....click HERE to see his victory.....and now this year Cub's Braves won...Wowza...We're practically like Manning family!! Thank you so much for all of them memories we will hold in our hearts!!!
