My very own Cricut!!!!! I have been himming and hawing (I have NEVER typed those words in MY LIFE!!!!) about getting it for over a year!! If you're a scrapbooker you know I'm not talking about the thing that chirps on a summer night. A dear friend has been raving about hers FOR.EVVVVVER!!! But I don't do well with techno gadgets like these and I've put off getting one. Another friend brought hers to a crop and showed me few things....I still felt overwhelmed....kinda the same feeling I get when I get a new camera or cell phone....I know they can do so much, but I only seem to scratch the surface of what they can do....then get all frustrated with myself. Which is how I'm feeling about Adobe Photoshop as well....I don't even know where to start to with THAT...I keep asking everyone about it hoping I'll find the EXPERT who will just tell me all about it and offer to come to my house when I get it and show me everything about it....oh wait, I got side tracked for a bit...where was I with the Cricut?????

The other factor was price.....$199, plus $40-60 for cartridges to get other fonts...I just was afraid I would get it and never be able to figure it out for myself and it would sit there. Well, my friend who has been rallying for me to get one gave me a flyer last week from Joanne's advertising they were having them on sale for $99!!! PLLUUUUSS giving you a $10 gift card to use at another time...bringing the price to $89!! Chip went away to camp with T. for the weekend and I decided it was to be my treat....I sometimes feel compelled to treat myself to something when he goes away for the weekend...

My kids are even excited!! They can see the possibities will be endless for their upcoming school projects...and you can even get a roll of that sticky contact paper and make words and quotes for your wall!! I haven't opened the box yet...I promised Cubby I would wait until he gets up tomorrow so we could do it together. I'm not surprised I haven't ripped right into it.....sometimes with big things like this I like to just sit it out and admire it for a bit, then take a big breath and dive in.....I did the same thing when I got "Minnie"....my pink Kitchen-Aid mixer. I can tell scrapbooking will never be the same!!! If you have any Cricut tips you'd like to share let me know.....
